October 20, 2025
At approximately 11:14 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 20, the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) was dispatched to a commercial structure fire located on West Pensacola Street. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from a single-story restaurant.
Crews quickly initiated a coordinated attack, setting up aerial apparatus as firefighters worked from the roof and additional crews operated inside the structure to bring the fire under control. Firefighters found heavy fire in the attic area and worked aggressively to extinguish it. A primary search of the structure was completed, and no occupants were found inside. No injuries were reported.
For operational safety and to secure a water supply, a portion of West Pensacola Street was temporarily closed during the incident.
The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
Multiple TFD units responded to the scene, including personnel from Stations 1, 4 and 8, along with members of TFD's Training Division, Command Staff and the newest group of firefighters currently in orientation.
The Tallahassee Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Tallahassee Police Department, City of Tallahassee Utilities and Leon County EMS.
